A. Microsoft Foundry

A.1. Create a project

Follow Create a project - Microsoft Foundry to create the Microsoft Foundry project:

Sign in to Microsoft Foundry. Ensure the New Foundry experience is enabled.
Select the project name in the upper-left corner, then select Create new project.
Enter a project name and select Create project.
If required, configure the Resource group and Location under the advanced options before creating the project.

Projects organize the agents, models, and other resources used by the DXC Agent for finance and supply chain management.

A.2. Deployments

A.2.1. Deploy a model

After creating the project, follow Deploy Microsoft Foundry Models in the Foundry portal to deploy the required model in the project.

Record the following details for the deployment record in D365:

Deployment name
Deployment version, when applicable
Deployment type: Model

A.2.2. Deploy a hosted agent

To deploy a hosted agent in the Microsoft Foundry project, follow Quickstart: Deploy your first hosted agent.

Record the following details for the deployment record in D365:

Deployment name
Deployment version
Deployment type: Agent

A.2.3. Build a workflow

To build a workflow that runs agents in a defined sequence, follow Build a workflow in Microsoft Foundry (Preview).

Record the following details for the deployment record in D365:

Deployment name

B.1. Enable feature

After deployment, find and enable the following features:

B.2. Agent connection parameters

B.2.1. App registration

Register an application in Microsoft Entra ID to authenticate the connection between D365 Finance and Operations and the Microsoft Foundry project.

Follow the instructions in Register an application in Microsoft Entra ID to:

Create an app registration.
Copy the Application (client) ID for use in Agent connection parameters.
Create a client secret under Certificates & secrets and copy the secret value. The secret value is shown only once.

B.2.2. Add the app to the Microsoft Foundry project

Add the registered application to the Microsoft Foundry project as a user and assign the required roles:

Open the Microsoft Foundry project created in section A.
Open the project access or user management settings and add the registered application as a user by using its Application (client) ID.
Assign the Foundry user role to the application.
Assign the Cognitive Services OpenAI User role to the application.

Navigate to Organisation administration > Agents for finance & supply chain management > Agent connection parameters to add the Microsoft Foundry connection and deployment details created in section A. The form has separate tabs for Microsoft Foundry Project Connection and Deployments.

B.2.3. Microsoft Foundry project connection

Create a connection record on the Microsoft Foundry Project Connection tab.

Field	Description
Name	Enter a name for the connection.
Endpoint URI	In Microsoft Foundry, open the project and select Home. Copy the Project endpoint and paste it here.
Tenant ID	Enter the Microsoft Entra tenant ID for the app registration.
Client ID	Enter the Application (client) ID created during app registration.
Client secret	Enter the client secret created during app registration.

Use Validate connection to validate the Microsoft Foundry project connection.

Note: Not shared across legal entities; to enable companies to keep separate model deployments / costs in MS Foundry.

B.2.4. Deployment details

Create a deployment record on the Deployments tab.

Field	Description
Deployment type	Select the deployment type, such as Model, Agent or Workflow
Deployment name	Enter the Microsoft Foundry deployment name exactly as deployed in Microsoft Foundry
Deployment version	Enter the deployment version when required.
DXC Agent Connection Details Name	Select the connection record created on the Microsoft Foundry Project Connection tab.

Use Validate deployment to validate the deployment details.

B.3. All agents

Navigate to Organisation administration > Agents for finance & supply chain management > All agent to setup the applicable licensed agents.

For each agent, use the deployment configured in Deployment details in section B.2.4. In the agent record, open Agent deployment details and select the applicable Model, Agent, or Workflow deployment.

Telemetry

The All agents form, provides the option to log and view telemetry for applicable agents, by setting the Enable telemetry to Yes.

View the telemetry by using Go to dashboard.

B.4. Agent workflows

Provides the ability to run multiple agents in a specific order.

Navigate to Organisation administration > Agents for finance & supply chain management > Agent workflows.

Click New to create a new workflow and select the applicable Agents under workflow agents setup. The default Agent instructions could also be overridden per workflow.
